The Northern Socio-Political Rights Network (NSPRN) has called on the Zamfara State Government to focus on delivering good governance and addressing the needs of citizens rather than engaging in political exchanges with previous administrations.

In a statement signed by its coordinator, Mohammed Lawal, the group advised the government to concentrate on improving security, infrastructure, and the welfare of residents.

This followed recent comments by the Zamfara State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Mahmud Dantawasa, who criticized the administration of former Governor Bello Matawalle.

Lawal noted that while constructive criticism is part of democracy, public officials should prioritize collaboration and solution-driven approaches to governance.

He said NSPRN believes that both the state and federal governments have a shared responsibility to ensure peace, security, and development in Zamfara, urging all stakeholders to work together in the interest of the people.

According to him, “Rather than apportioning blame, the focus should be on cooperation between federal and state authorities to tackle insecurity and other socio-economic challenges affecting the state.”

The group further called for an end to political distractions, emphasizing that citizens expect effective leadership and accountability from those in office.
