Two, he sows his deeds, good or evil, and it bears fruits which multiply for others to reap during his lifetime and after his death, with gratitude and supplication or with grief and curse. When he dies, his person is buried in the grave, where it dematerializes, but his personality lives on for as long as his fame or infamy can sustain it in history.
Sheikh Jaafar Mahmud Adam of blessed memory lived to build a towering personality in the vast region of West Africa on the vast undertaking of the propagation of Islam and the teaching of pristine-pure Islamic practices in accordance with the Holy Qur’an and the Tradition of the Holy Prophet (SAW). He, thus, built his personality with good deeds, and it exudes an illuminating light of fame, guiding Muslims to the path of righteousness. He sowed seeds of good, which would continue to offer bountiful harvest of spiritual rejuvenation and nourishment to Muslims in strict accordance with Islamic injunctions to the pleasure of Allah, the Most High. And, so, although dead, his towering personality lives and radiates on to the most secure regions of history.
From the famous personality he built, and the nourishing seeds he sowed, have emerged multiple crops of intelligent students, preachers and propagators of the Islamic religion who are a dependable guide and source of nourishment to the Muslim brethren across the vast region of the Bilad Assudan.
Among the most-notable of the crops is Malam Lawal Abubakar Shu’aib, who made his second most-promising appearance as Magajin Jaafar in the pure tradition of Jaafar, during the last Ramadhan Fast at Area 11 Mosque, Garki, Abuja, where he was posted for the traditional month-long preaching.
Born at Kwanar Disu in the ancient city of Kano 33 years ago, Malam Lawal obtained BA Islamic studies from the Islamic University, Umm Durman (Omdurman) in Sudan. On his return to Nigeria, he lectured at the College of Islamic and Legal studies, Daura, before he ventured into full time Da’awah. He leads prayers and teaches Qur’an and other books of jurisprudence in the mosque of defunct Triumph Newspapers in Kano. He conducts his regular Tafsir at the same venue. This competent Magajin Malam has represented Malam Jaafar at various occasions at different times on Malam’s behest, which suffices to show that he built promising potential and preacher-profile in the pure tradition of the Kitabi Wassunna (Qur’an and Hadith) propagated by the Jamaatu Izalatil Bid’ah wa Iqamatissunnah (JIBWIS) even in the lifetime of Malam.
JIBWIS, a revivalist Islamic movement, introduced a top-on-the-scale educative Tafsir (preaching with the commentary of the Holy Qur’an and Hadith) tradition. The Ulama (reputably-knowledgeable preachers) with their Hafiz (memorizers of the Holy Qur’an) partners are cross-posted to different mosques owned and run by the organization. This strategy does not only retain existing audience but increases its fold tremendously.
Before the closing prayer on the last day of the Tafsir on 4 August 2013 at the Area 11 Mosque in Abuja where, as stated earlier, Malam Lawal led this year’s Tafsir,  Malam Abdurrahman Al-Zamfiriyi, one of the prominent Ulama of JIBWIS, captured the mood of the attendees and spoke their minds thus: “Allah wants to wipe away our tears for the death of Malam Jaafar Adam by bringing a competent replacement. The gentleman is poised to step into the big shoes left behind by Malam Jaafar. We pray to Allah to grant him the strength, courage and guidance to deliver”.
Revered Sheikh Jaafar Mahmud Adam began to build his reputation by conducting the Ramadhan Tafsir at Indimi Mosque in Maiduguri, where he reigned for 14 years before his brutal assassination on 13 April 2007 at his Dorayi Mosque in Kano.
The person of Sheikh Jaafar is in the grave as the Muslim Ummah supplicates that his soul finds everlasting repose in the garden of Bliss, but his personality, firm in the concrete ground of history, living on in unfading fame and casting guiding light for the Muslim Brethren to tread the path of righteousness, has produced Malam Lawal  Abubakar Shu’aib and his likes.
