For the ears of Nigerian leaders

Politicians should note the kind of promises they make to the electorate during campaign and ensure they deliver them after being elected into offices. Social amenities, such as sustainable power and water supply, guaranteed quality education, employment,  and provisions of enabling environments for affordable house accommodation and guaranteed rights of citizens of Nigeria are the most serious areas of concern that affect the generality of Nigerians.

But corruption and insincerity have combined to blind our politicians from doing what they promised to do with their own mouths. I advise our leaders to do what is right before it is too late. There is no repentance after Death. What is the benefit of ‘fresh air’, when one is already under the pressure of the grave? Where is the ‘fresh air’ that we were being promised? Is it in the making or in heaven? Our leaders must face the reality of our time and situations. Let them listen to their hearts and the dictates of their conscience.

Experience is the child of thought, action and inaction. Thought is the father of action or inaction. Have the courage to say ‘No’; have the courage to face the truth. Do the right thing, because it is right. These are magic key to living with integrity and dignity. Time, effort, knowledge, and vision, along with passion, are the key ingredients for attaining excellent heights/achievements. What was lost in the past is a part of destiny, but what comes up in future would be the combination of both of collective efforts and luck. Great effort is a catalyst for great achievement, because it is through effort that we derive maximum satisfaction and achievement in life. To fulfil your ambitions and desires, there must be great effort and determination, because both determine success or failure in life. In this regard, one can find an area where one can function effortlessly to bring positive changes into one’s life.

Lastly, we must all remember our reason for coming to this world. It is not to amass wealth or live big. Allah SWT provides all available resource for mankind, and asks mankind to worship Him. But in Nigeria, some would rather listen to their cronies than do the right thing. They don’t want to hear the truth as long as it does not tally with their selfish desires. May the Almighty Allah give us the strength for follow His ways, obey our leaders when they do what is right, and may the leaders also have the courage to serve us to the best of their ability. May they not listen to the voices of hangers-on and those who only think of what they will get instead of what the community would benefit.
