Former Special Adviser on Media to former Kano state Governor , Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Salihu Tanko Yakasai, has officially announced his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Yakasai, who announced the defection on his verfied social media handles on Monday, described the move as a “new journey” in his political career.

He said his decision followed extensive consultations with family members, friends, and fellow political associates.

The former People’s Redemption Party (PRP) Governorship candidate in 2023 also confirmed that he had submitted his resignation letter to the APC and completed his registration with the ADC.

“After consultations with family, friends, and fellow political associates, we have decided to join the ADC, a new journey! I have already submitted my resignation letter to the APC and registered with our new party, the ADC,” Yakasai declared.

He further encouraged supporters to take advantage of the party’s online registration platform, noting that membership cards could be obtained quickly online.

Expressing optimism about the party’s prospects, Yakasai prayed for divine guidance and success, hoping the ADC would rise to form governments across Nigeria and bring progress to the nation.

“We pray to Almighty God that this decision will be for the best, that the ADC will form governments across the country, and that it will bring blessings to all Nigerians,” he added.
