Former champion Julius Yego is excited to be making a fifth appearance at the World Athletics Championships when competition gets underway in Oregon.

The 33-year-old who became the first African to win a men’s Javelin world title when he triumphed at the Beijing 2015 edition, is hoping to cap off a landmark appearance with another medal.

“It’s my fourth championships in a row and fifth overall which is a personal milestone. My aim is to push for a medal and make sure I finish on the podium,” Yego told supersport.com.

Yego has struggled with injuries and form over the past few years but feels it is all coming together at the right time.
