Former Kuje council chairman is dead

A former chairman of Kuje Area Council, Mr. Samuel Etsu Lanto, has died. A member of the bereaved family, Danladi Samuel, said the former chairman died in the early hours of yesterday after a brief illness.  

He said  the former chairman died at about 2:00a.m. on Thursday where he was taking  traditional medicine and one of his sons who was with him came back home in tears to deliver the sad news.

“It was at about 2:00a.m. this morning that one of the deceased’s sons came back home shedding tears saying their father is dead and we joined other family members to go and convey his corpse back home, “ he said.

Samuel said the remains of the deceased had been deposited at Kuje General Hospital morgue, pending the conclusion of arrangement for his burial.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Kuje Area Council, Alhaji Abdullahi D. Galadima, has expressed shock and sadness over the death of the former chairman of the council.

Galadima, in his condolence message via a statement issued by his special adviser on media and publicity, Haruna Usman, said the death of the former chairman was not a loss to the council alone, but the FCT in general.

The chairman urged the family of the deceased to see the death as natural, while praying for his soul to rest in peace.

The late former chairman is survive by four wives and 20 children.
