Former House Member representing Gwale federal constituency from 2011 to 2015 Muhammad Hussani Bashir Galadanchi was friday dragged before upper Shari’a court ‘2’ Kofar Kudu in Kano state for failure to pay a debt of N3, 495, 200 collected from his friend Muhammad Umar.
Reading his prayers before the Shari’a court judge, Atiku Bello, counsel to the plaintiff Usman Dahiru Jafaru told the court that substantial part of the money was received by the defendant through series of bank transactions between his client and the defendant while some part were received in physical cash and also as payment to some services.
He added that following the lapse of payment grace, and the defendant inability to pay his client as agreed, the plaintiff’s has brought the case before the court to assist him in getting the defendant to pay back.
Counsel to the defendant barrister Khadija Nasir Ahmad pleaded with the court to adjourn the case as they were given a short notice.
The case was adjourned to February 1st, 2018 for continuation as the plaintiff tendered copies of details of the bank transactions as evidence before the court.
