During his tenure as the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Prof. Muhammad Sani Haruna spearheaded the development of over one hundred and fifty (150) innovative products.

In a statement, Mukhtar Saeed Ciroma, a public affairs analyst, said these innovations spanned various sectors of Nigeria’s economy, contributing to the nation’s technological advancement and self-reliance among others.

One of his achievements, according to Ciroma was the establishment of the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Complex at the Scientific Equipment Development Institute (SEDI) in Enugu.

“This state of the art facility is equipped with modern computerized manufacturing machines capable of producing scientific equipment, machinery, and automobile spare parts. By setting up this complex, Haruna revolutionized Nigeria’s manufacturing industry while creating opportunities for skill acquisition.

“Training workshops held at the facility empower youths with the practical expertise needed for employment and entrepreneurship,” the statement said.

The public affairs analyst said in his commitment to addressing unemployment and poverty, Haruna oversaw the creation of the Muhammadu Buhari Entrepreneurship Development Centre at SEDI Minna with a comparable facility established in Enugu.

“This center is dedicated to training youths in various emerging technologies, equipping them with relevant skills for the job market. With a multipurpose hall, offices, and dedicated skills acquisition rooms, the center has become a hub for technological empowerment and capacity building.”

The statement added: “His tenure was marked by a profound commitment to youth empowerment and social development. By providing employment opportunities to numerous youths, he not only contributed to reducing unemployment but also ensured a sustainable livelihood for them and their families.

“This transformative action underscored his dedication to creating a brighter future for the younger generation and fostering economic stability in communities. His visionary leadership continues to resonate as a beacon of hope and progress, positively impacting countless lives across the nation and his contributions exemplify the power of leadership dedicated to national progress.”
