The Bwari Area Council chapter of APC North East Geo-political Zone Forum has honoured the FCT mandate secretary for Area Council Service Secretariat (ACSS), Adamu Abubakar Bappah.
The forum honoured Bappah for his commitment to improving the living conditions of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the area.
Speaking at the presentation of the award, yesterday, chairman of the forum, Saidu Musa, said the members initiated the award because of the secretary’s transparency and fairness in handling Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Bwari.
He said most of the FCTA support for IDPs from the North East that were taking refuge in four IDPs camps in Bwari was based on the recommendations of the secretary to the FCT minister, Malam Muhammad Bello and other stakeholders.
The chairman, however, solicited for more support for the members, especially the educated youth among them, by providing an enabling environment for them to get employment.
Responding, the area council secretary, Bappah, said the success recorded at the secretariat was possible through the cooperation of all staff.
