The Forum for Graduates of Saudi Universities in the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Neighboring Countries is set to commence its sessions on Monday in Abuja, focusing on the theme of sustainable development across the region.

The three-day event, organized under the patronage of Saudi universities, will bring together Saudi-trained graduates from Nigeria, Chad, Cameroon, Gabon, and other neighboring countries. Participants will discuss the role of education in promoting sustainable growth and community transformation.

According to the organizers, the forum will feature dialogue sessions and presentations highlighting the contributions of Saudi-trained graduates in sectors such as education, economy, agriculture, media, and humanitarian work. Experts and academics from both Nigeria and Saudi Arabia are expected to share insights on how higher education can be leveraged to drive development and innovation.

Several successful initiatives will be showcased during the sessions, including the Cooperative Microfinance Window supporting small-scale enterprises, Cattle Fattening Projects that enhance food security and rural livelihoods, as well as educational programs such as Quran Memorization Efforts and the Establishment of Teachers’ Colleges. These examples aim to illustrate how academic training from Saudi institutions is being applied to practical community solutions.

The forum will also spotlight development projects led by Saudi-trained graduates in Chad, Cameroon, and Gabon, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to fostering human capacity and community development across West and Central Africa.

Organizers said the event is intended to serve as a platform for exchanging ideas, strengthening institutional partnerships, and aligning initiatives with global sustainable development goals. It also seeks to deepen Saudi-Africa relations, particularly in the areas of education, social progress, and capacity building.
