The Nigerian Emerging Leaders Forum (NELF), has called on Nigerian youths to avoid being bitter, sentiments and other fault lines but focus on preparing themselves for leadership roles.

The national convener, Alkasim Muhammad Zangina, stated this during the forum launch in Abuja, saying most of the vices today were perpetrated by young people and it’s time these issues are placed at the top burner of governance and policy formulation.

Zangina said NELF is envisioned to promote and ensure the democratic and social rights of young Nigerians.

“We also seek to actively advocate and encourage political participation at all levels of our national lives and most importantly offer scalable skills and civic education with a view to offering opportunities for personal and general social development,” he said.

Also speaking, the national secretary of the forum, McEva Temofe, said NELF is a collection of visionary young Nigerians passionate about change in the country, with a strong conviction of systemic processes as a catalyst for change.

The national publicity secretary, Maryam Ahman, said one of NELF’s agenda is to prepare, engage and activate the potential of young people to drive Nigeria’s economic transformation.
