Ane Osiobe International Foundation has distributed educational materials to children with special needs at Special Education Resource Center in  Pilot Science Primary school, Gwagwalada in Abuja.

Distributing the materials, the vice president of the foundation, Mrs Asmau Idris said the donation is part of its activities to encourage children with special needs to achieve their full potentials and contribute to the growth and development of the nation.

According to her, education is a basic human right of every child, adding that no child should be deprive of such right regardless their circumstances in life.

“Our focus is to provide these kids who have potentials with opportunities that level the playing field. We help them meet their goals and provide them with positive experiences not limited to supporting the educational advancement and supporting a child who has the desire to getting a sound education”, she said.

Receiving the materials , the Headmistress of the school, Mrs Comfort Demide expresses gratitude to the foundation for the kind gesture and pledged to make judicious use of the materials.

Demide lamented shortage of teaching staff in school and called on government to help with more human resources.

“We want to thank the foundation for this donation and we must confess that the donation is apt and timely.Currently, We are having shortage of teachers in the school and this has make our operations a little bit difficult.We are appealing to government and other philanthropists in the country to come to our aid”, she said.
