The Lolia Biobele-Georgewill Foundation has distributed food items to women and girls in Shape community in Apo, FCT as part of it activities to commemorate the 2025 International Women’s Day.
The Founder, Dame Lolia Biobele-Georgewill, during the outreach at the weekend said the essence of the outreach is to celebrate all the women who have fought hard for their voices to be heard.
She also reminded of the women and girls who are silenced every day to speak out in whatever they are going through urging them that as long as they are a woman, they will always be prejudiced.
Food items shared in the community was; Vegetable oil, Rice, Tomatoes, Garri, Spaghetti, Sugar, Salt etc to women and cooked meals to the children.
In her words , “the society has given us so many adjectives to live up to- strong, loud, independent, pain bearer.
“This year, I hope each of us can have our own definition of Woman and step aside from the mirage created by society to suffocate us.
“Which is what birthed this outreach, we came here to celebrate you as a women. We have prepared food for your children and food items for each of you. We also have micro grant opportunities for Small businesses owners amongst you,” she said.
One of the beneficiaries, Madam Bilkis Ali thanked the foundation for the good gesture and urged other foundation to always remember them for such outreach.
She called on the federal government to provide women and children with the essential basic amenities and infrastructure like good roads, schools, hospital and others in the community .
