At the launch of the library project, the Chief Executive Officer of ZODML, Mrs. Ifeoma Esiri, said the school library project was the sixth in the series within Ikoyi and Lagos Island local areas by the Foundation under what it called “ZODML free library initiative.”
Mrs. Esiri said the idea behind the initiative was to provide resources for knowledge acquisition, recreation and self-development, having observed a significant impact of reading on pupils.
She noted that reading materials, especially books, always rub on positively on the progress of students, adding: “We were lucky to enter partnership with Stanbic IBTC Bank, who gave us most of the books we donate to schools. We are also planning to get more people to donate books to us.”
