A nongovernment organisation, Ebuka Okafor Foundation, has trained and provided working implements for at least 3,000 widows in Anambra state.

The widows, drawn from various parts of the state, were trained on tailoring as well as presented with sewing machines, wrappers and food items including bags of rice, beans and garri.

Unveiling the magazine, wife of the State governor, Chief Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano, said the gesture was in line with the state government principle of being one’s brother’s keeper.

Obiano, represented by Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Protocol, Dr. Ify Madukasi, called for prayers for the sustenance of the project.

The founder of the project, Sir Ebuka Okafor, said he was led by God to give back to the society thereby impacting on the lives of the down trodden.

Some of the beneficiaries  expressed gratitude to God and to the benefactor for his kind gesture, promising to make judicious use of the machines.
