A foundation, Links for Help, has empowered 10 women with sewing and grinding machines to enable them start their smallscale businesses in Abuja.

The coordinator of the foundation, Mrs Mfawa Usani, who donated the tools to the women while launching her book titled, ‘Healing Balm, Restoring Moral and Spiritual Values in Today’s Youth’, said nothing is too small to give.  

She said people should give a helping hand to the needy in keeping the vision of the foundation alive by supporting the vulnerable in the society and giving them hope to survive.

She said, Healing Balm is aimed at giving to the youth tools to transform their lives for a better future and that all money realised from the sale of the book would be used in supporting the youth in any area they needed help.

Mrs Usani also said the donation of the tools is to aid the women to start their businesses while explaining that some of them had finished learning but had no machine to start work while some needed grinding machine for business to enable them provide for their families.

The foundation also donated various food items such as rice, garri, oil and other relief materials to the less privileged that were selected randomly across the city.

The Director, Planning, Research and Statistics in the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Mr Alhassan Yakmut, said the book was timely coming at such a time that the Niger Delta and Nigerian youth in general require reform.
