Foundation gives scholarships to 92 indigent students

A non-governmental organisation (NGO), IG Aguowo Health and Academic Foundation has given full scholarships to 92 indigent students in Nigeria.

The founder and chairman of the foundation, Ignatius Aguowo, said the beneficiaries were drawn from across secondary and tertiary institutions in the country.

Aguowo stated that the beneficiaries were selected following the completion of qualifying examinations held in Awka and would have all their educational expenses from their current academic level to their final year in a tertiary institution of their choice sponsored.

The scholarship would also ensure each beneficiary has access to free medical healthcare while studying.

Announcing the scholarships, Aguowo said his foundation is fashioned to help the less privileged in appreciation of God’s blessing on him.

The CEO of the Best Brain Contest, Hon Frank Igbojindu, the commended philanthropic gestures, which he said were devoid of political colouration.

He also revealed that the capturing and documentation of the new 92 beneficiaries into the foundation’s scholarship programme are scheduled to be held on September 8, 2023, at Prof. Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka.
