An Abuja-based Non-Governmentalb Organisation (NGO), Anneozeng Ogozi Aid Foundation (AOAF), has granted scholarships to 19 indigent children in Mpape Community, a suburb of Abuja.
The founder of AOAF, Mrs. Anneozeng Ogozi Peters, and her team, visited the Local Education Authority (LEA) Primary School, Mpape, where she announced the awards.
Mrs. Peters said she had requested the management to give her a list of orphans in the school who the foundation could assist and 19 names were presented.
She said the school was located in the FCT but that it had a lot of malnourished children, adding that, “The foundation gave scholarships to the 19 children and also gave over 5,000 exercise books, mathematical sets, biros, pencils and erasers to the school for distribution to the pupils.”
She assured the school authority that the foundation would come back to carry out some renovation of buildings in the school, most of which were dilapidated.
