A philanthropic organisation, the Baywood Foundation has launched a book targeted at youth empowerment and political participation.
Titled, “Beyond Rhetoric: Youth Empowerment and Political voice in Nigeria”, the book which was launched in Lagos by a team authors who discuss multi-faceted issues affecting Nigerian youths in different spheres.
The Baywood Foundation Chairman, Emperor Chris Baywood Ibe remarked that the book has been written to reflect the departure of the authors working in tandem the Foundation’s objectives.
“This book responds to this anomaly by offering solutions that go beyond the usual talk-shows. No one needs to be told that dealing with the enormity of these challenges bedevilling the youth cannot be achieved by mere rhetoric. The solution lies on decisive actions that are backed and given teeth by law and relevant legislations,” Ibe said.
The Foundation founder noted that the emergence of the book, the need for youth affirmative action youth driven essentially by internship system has become more topical.
“We are hopeful that by the end of the day we shall have convinced the heads of governments of Africa to adopt the affirmative action for the African youth,” Ibe said.
