The founder of Royal School of Educational Therapy Foundation, Abuja, Dr Badewa Adejugbe-Williams, has called Nigerians to support and appreciate children with disabilities.

She said the children living with disabilities were unique because of their abilities.

Adejugbe-Williams was speaking at the ‘2nd Gallery of Talents Exhibition,’ to celebrate the achievements of students with disabilities, organised by the Royal School of Educational Therapy Foundation, Abuja at the weekend.

She explained that the‘Gallery of Talents Exhibition’ was meant to let people know that children with disabilities also have special abilities.

The Public Diplomacy Officer of the Embassy of the United States of America in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Joseph Schaller, in his remarks, noted that implementation of the Childs Disability Act would create more educational opportunities and access for children with disabilities.

“In the United States, we have a piece of legislation, ‘The American Disability Act that really opened the doors for people with various types of disabilities. I understand that the government of Nigeria also has a similar legislation.

“So I am advocating to the parents and family friends of children with disabilities to push for the enforcement of this legislation to create more opportunities and access for children with disabilities.”

The exhibition also included drama presentation by the students, students’ cultural attire modeling, and dance showcase, among others.
