The Al-Abrar Islamic Foundation in conjunction with Al-Abrar Innovation Technology has organised a special prayer to seek divine intervention for Nigeria.
The prayer held at Olowora, Ojodu Berger, Lagos State had many Muslim clerics from the southwest in attendance.
It was organised in honour of the founder of the two organisations, Imam Raji Adam, and to also pray for the peace and unity of the nation.
The Chief Imam, White House Central Mosque, Ibara Housing Estate, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Dr. Abdul Razaq Abdul Azeez Ajibade, who spoke on “The Fundamentals of Islamic Leadership”, said capability and trustworthiness were necessary traits that should be considered in a prospective leader.
This, he said, would enable him or her to perform excellently.
Ajibade said Islam has no preference for a particular system of government, be it democracy, military rule, or monarchical system of government, adding that any governmental system that practices justice is Islamic.
Another cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Rufai, who spoke on the topic, “The Consequence of Evil Deeds on Individuals and the Society; Islam as the antidote,” said anyone that does ungodly deed will be rewarded accordingly, while a doer of a good deed will be rewarded in manifolds accordingly.
“All leaders would be asked on how their followers were led and this would go across all positions even the head of the family, father, would be interrogated as well,” he said.
