Strom Foundation has taken the second edition of its 100 Bright Minds Initiative to Government Junior Secondary School, Jikwoyi, FCT-Abuja, in commemoration of Children’s Day, to deepen its commitment to financial literacy, and community impact among young learners.
The outreach formed part of Strom’s ongoing effort to support children with financial literacy and other skills at the formative stages of learning, particularly at the secondary school level, where many students begin to shape their ambitions, interests, and sense of future direction.
The Foundation noted that Across Nigeria, the need for sustained education support remains urgent.
During the session, the students received learning materials and engaged in an interactive mentorship session designed to inspire confidence, curiosity, and academic focus.
“Every child deserves more than a seat in a classroom. They deserve the tools, guidance, and confidence to believe that their future is worth preparing for,” Blessing David-Offiong, Program Officer, Strom Foundation said.
“In the FCT alone, public junior secondary schools serve a large student population. FCTUBEB’s current JSS enrolment statistics show 197,149 students across JSS1, JSS2, and JSS3, underscoring the importance of interventions to support learners in the public education system.
“This visit also reflects Strom’s broader belief that Africa’s future workforce must be nurtured early. From infrastructure to innovation, the continent’s growth will depend not only on the systems being built today, but on the young minds being prepared to lead, manage, and improve them tomorrow,” the foundation added.
