Foundation trains 100 Kajuru women, youths on vocational skills

True Foundation, a non-governmental organisation that focuses on youth and women mentorship and empowerment has trained over 100 women and youths on different vocations in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

At the programme organised in partnership with NEMA and support from Adara Development Initiative, the founder of True Foundation, Brenda Ataga, said the training was aimed at tackling youth restiveness in the local government, as well as expose the untapped talents of the beneficiaries.

She regretted that culture had stalled a lot of dreams of young people and women in the country, stressing that Nigerian youths are very innovative and can thrive if given the right opportunities.

“We have been misled by culture that we want to do things so fast without thinking of the rudiments to greatness.

“I think in Nigeria we all need to think organically by growing from the bottom. Develop yourself and put it to work. If every youth starts something regardless of how little, we will go places,” Ataga said.

Chairman of the LGA, Cafra Caino, lauded the organisation’s choice of Kajuru, adding that, that will further foster growth, peace and unity in the region.

He charged leaders at all levels to ensure adequate inclusion of youths and women in governance, stressing that such will encourage innovative ideas and thinking outside the box to develop their own entities.

One of the beneficiaries, Zugwai Emmanuella Magaji, who learnt how to bake lauded the programme, saying she will start her own business with the knowledge she acquired.
