The Police in Ondo State have arrested four men for alleged stealing phones at the inauguration ceremony of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for a second term in office.
Parading the suspects on Tuesday, spokesman of the state police command, Tee Leo- Ikoro, said they came from the neighbouring states of Osun, Oyo and Kwara to snatch phones from dignitaries.

According to him, during the inauguration ceremony at the state event centre, the Dome Akure, distress calls were received from some groups of people that those who specialise in snatching phones and other valuables came from different states to attend the ceremony.
“They succeeded in snatching phones from people who attended the ceremony. On receipt of these complaints, detectives from CP’s Special Operation Squad Akure swung into action and four persons were apprehended,” he said.
Ikoro said they were arrested along Ilesha-Akure express road and seven handsets were recovered from them. He added that the suspects confessed to the crime during interrogation and will be arraigned in court at the conclusion of investigation.
