History was made in Ota area of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government area of Ogun State over the weekend, as four quarters chiefs were upgraded to coronet monarchs and presented with staff of office by the State government. 

The four monarchs were Oba Clement Akinyemi, the Ajana of Ijana Ota, Oba Sikiru Anibire; the Onikosi of Osi Ota, Oba Wadudu Deinde; the Akogun of Oruba and Oba Akeem Kolawole, the Onikotun of Otun Ota. 

At the event held at Okede square, the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun pointed out that the installations were carried out as a result of fast development going on in the area described as the commercial nerve centre and industrial hub of the State. 

Amosun who was represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Jide Ojuko added that the decision behind the elevation was to ensure Ota metropolis is well administered for continued peace and progress in line with the mission to rebuild Ogun State.  

Chairman Ado Odo Ota Local Government, Hon. Dele Adeniji stated that the upliftment of traditional institutions in the LG was uniquely conducted to produce four candidates to fill the vacant stools without rancour and acrimony. 

He commended the late Olota of Ota, Oba Moshood Alani Oyede who during his lifetime facilitated the consent of the Alake of Egbaland Oba Aremu Gbadebo for the appointment. 

In an acceptance speech on behalf of the four monarchs, Oba Clement Akinyemi, the Ajana of Ijana Ota, said their elevation had engendered unity of the four quarters.
