The Dean said this while receiving the Consular-General of the French Embassy in Nigeria, Mr. Francois Sastourne in his office.
Akinwale encouraged the Consular-General to make such visit more frequent as a way of cementing the emerging cordial relationship between the Department of French of the university and the French Embassy in Nigeria. In his response, the Consular-General told the Dean that he was in the University to get acquainted with the staff and students of the Department of French and observe the teaching and learning activities in the Department.
The Consular-General promised to assist the Department in getting its own language laboratory to facilitate the teaching and learning of French.
