The Plateau State Water Board and the French Development Partners(FDP) have entered into a partnership that will cover the procurement and installation of water meters to customers as well as installation and replacement of pipeline networks for increased portable water supply in the state.
The partnership which was made known when a team of experts from the FDP visited the state Commissioner for Water Resources and Energy, Eng. David Ja’afaru Wuyep will address key areas in water provision and distribution in the state.
Eng. Wuyep said the partnership will also cover areas of replacement of old AC pipe network as well as rehabilitation and upgrading of existing facilities adding that “the provision of water is capital intensive and therefore government cannot do it alone except with contributions from donor agencies such as the FDP.”
Representative of the FDP Bernard Danthon, said they were in the state to conduct a pre-feasibility study before the commencement of the project.
