The programme is aimed at teaching the students the language as well as creating the love for French language among them who they hope would represent the country in the francophone nation.

Making this known to Oodua Trust was the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the institution, Titilayo Alegbeleye who stressed that this is been done as part of their efforts to make the language generally acceptable and attractive to the students, adding that such measures would enhance the development of the language among their peers after the camping.

She said “this excursion to a French speaking country and tutorials are put in place to make sure the students enjoy the camp and to steer their interest in the language since it is now a compulsory teaching in our schools. And looking at the countries that surrounded us they are French speaking nations and we need to start teaching them so that we will not be ignorant whenever they are in such country”.
