Fresh attack claims 7 lives in Kaduna

Seven people were allegedly killed and five others injured in an attack by unidentified people in Kurmin Gandu village, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Sunday night.

A source told Daily Trust that the incident happened around 8:00 pm.

He added that the attackers, who came in large number, started killing the villagers immediately they arrived.

Confirming the incident, the Chairman, Atyap Chiefdom Peace and Security Partnership Committee, Mr John Bala Goara, said the attackers used machetes and knives on the villagers.

He said the injured have been taken to Zonkwa General Hospital for treatment.

He added that many are still missing as they ran into the bush for safety, and the total number of casualties is yet to be ascertained.
