In a compelling testament to the power of opportunity and mentorship, Yusuf Ibrahim Sulaiman, a former street bagger, has turned his life around through the support of ENGAUSA SKILLS DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION, emerging not just as a skilled technician but also a job creator.

During an exclusive interview on ENGAUSA PODCAST with Engr Mustapha Habu Ringim, and founder of the foundation, Yusuf shared his journey from life on the street to becoming a thriving entrepreneur.

His transformation began when his brother, Aminu Arma Yau -then a trainee at ENGAUSA HUB -introduced him to the center’s technology programs. Inspired by the determination of his peers, Yusuf decided to join them.

Through a scholarship offered to their Tsangaya (Tsangayar Mallam Ibrahim and Arma Yau), Yusuf and fifteen other Almajiris were selected for intensive training in smart phone repairs, CCTV instillation, graphic design and basic electrical wiring.

Yusuf was among the second cohort to graduate from the program and was awarded a full maintenance toolkit.

“This opportunity changed my life,” he said. “ENGAUSA HUB gave me the skills to earn a living.”

Now, Yusuf runs his own shop and is paying it forward-he has employed five staff, Almajiris and two young people from the neighborhood area of Rijiyar Zaki kano, helping them pursue hands-on training and a brighter future.
