The sector commander said different public enlightenment programmes had been going on to educate drivers, especially those into commercial driving, on the dangers of overloading. “Some of the drivers, no matter the public enlightenment, believe they have the power to control accidents while in the actual sense they cannot’,’ he lamented.

Sayi also advised the drivers to make sure that their tyres were okay and be wary of using second hand tyres to prevent accidents, saying such tyres could get burst due to the hot weather condition, which may lead to accidents.

He also advised drivers on the dangers inherent in night journey, saying, it was better to embark on a journey in the day time.
