Retirees of the Federal Road Safety Corps have begged the federal government to pay their disengagement (Severance) allowances.

In a letter titled “President Buhari save the souls ‎of Corps Retirees,” signed by M. O Eje and made available to newsmen in Kaduna, they said most of them served the country for 20 years and above.

He said it has been years since their retirement from service but they were yet to be paid their disengagement allowances which he claimed was their rights.

He said the retirees involved Ranks of Corps Commanders down to the least Marshals.

“We are Nigerians and have contributed in various ways to the development of our country. We, retirees, ‎are not laying blames on the federal government but on FRSC management for causing the lapses,” he said.

He said the disengagement allowances is retiree’s right irrespective of ranks as stipulated under Chapter 13, 130103 and 130104 of Federal Government Public Service Rules 2008 edition and under the paragraph 12.3 of the FRSC amended edition of Service 2013.

Eje said the FRSC neither confirm nor align with Paramilitary setting or any other federal organisation, not even state government services which is why its staff are suffering after retirement.

He urged President Buhari to task the FRSC Governing Council members on the subject-matter by giving them stringent terms of references on the issues raised.
