Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has encouraged Muslims embarking on the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage to actively participate in the spiritual exercise and represent the state positively.

Addressing the pilgrims at the Port Harcourt International Airport in Omagwa, Ikwerre Local Government Area, on Tuesday, Governor Fubara highlighted the privilege of undertaking the pilgrimage and emphasised the importance of deriving spiritual upliftment and well-being from the experience.

The governor also announced a subsidy for the 2024 Hajj costs for Rivers State pilgrims and extended this gesture to pilgrims from other South-South and South-East states. He urged the pilgrims to pray fervently for the improvement of the state and Nigeria, considering the challenges facing the country.

“We are here to see your faces and wish you well. You are privileged to embark on this spiritual journey. What you owe the country and the state is prayers for a better state,” he said.
