The removal of fuel subsidy by the federal government has been contentious for the cost of living across the country. The government claims that the removal of fuel subsidy will be the solution to corruption and save funds from the oil sector, but Nigerians have noticed an increased cost of living, poverty and lack of social welfare.

The government has made many promises to Nigerians to reduce the hardship such as increase of wages for civil servants and distribution of palliative to households but which programme has the federal government brought to ease the day-to-day living cost of the Nigerian student?

Nigerian students have continued to suffer following the increasement of tuition fees by the past administration. Both students and their parents are bearing the brunt because the number of school dropouts has increased due to this situation.
