Vice Chancellor, Federal University Lafia (FULafia), Professor Muhammad Sanusi Liman, has vowed to fight truancy among staff.
Professor Liman stated this at a meeting with the executive members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), FULafia Branch.
The vice chancellor who said he was dismayed by the attitude of workers called on the union’s officials to advise their members to prioritize their work, stating that he had directed the SERVICOM unit of the university to monitor staff.
“It will no longer be business as usual as any member of staff found culpable would be dealt with,” he said.
Earlier in his remark, the branch chairman of SSANU, Comrade Monday Sarki highlighted some concerns of the union which included the need to restore payment of hazard allowance, bi-annual management/staff interactive sessions, and training of non-teaching and technical staffs through the TETfund intervention programmes.
