A  Jos-based lawyer, Mr Ayuba Bawa, who is also the national secretary of Tarayya Masihiyanan Nigeria (TAMANI), an association of Hausa/Fulani and Kanuri Christians in Nigeria, claimed that clashes have been persistent because the two groups had not been “very sincere’’ on some of the matters.
“After a clash for instance, most relief materials given to victims through some of the Ardos hardly reach the actual victims. Unfortunately, no one can challenge them because the Fulanis have a culture which does not give the ordinary herdsman the audacity to challenge any decision of an Ardo or leader of Miyetti Allah,” he said.
