Funlola’s first baby, a boy, has brought a lot of joy into their lives, she says, as she dished further that husband help a lot in things like changing diapers and so on. “My husband is super-amazing, so it’s not surprising that he’s a super-amazing father,” she said. “He enjoys it as much as I do,” she said. But she was coy about the names of her baby, saying she would like to keep that private.
Funlola’s professional career took off in 1996 while she was studying for a diploma course in the University of Lagos. She auditioned for and got the part of Ese in hit Nollywood movie ‘Violated’, in which she featured alongside screen greats Richard Mofe-Damijo and Joke Silva. She has also played many roles, including Doctor Grace on BBC’s ‘Wetin Dey’ to much acclaim. Her critically-acclaimed turn on Director Afolayan’s thriller The Figurine proved she has sufficient range, as it saw her in a bad girl role, shocking many of her fans, albeit pleasantly. “I had a blast doing that. It was refreshing,” she told Weekend Magazine.
