Through Tuesday, the movie’s total was $489.5 million, including $315 million internationally and $174.5 million domestically in the U.S.
And Furious 7 is poised to soon eclipse fellow Universal box office hit Fifty Shades of Grey to become the top release of 2015 to date. Fifty Shades’ current global total is $566.1 million.
In North America, it could take in as much as $60 million this weekend, easily trouncing the only new nationwide entry, The Longest Ride. From Fox 2000 and based on a Nicholas Sparks novel, Longest Ride is pacing to open in the $12 million range.
In Nigeria, the movie is recording great success, as well, as many cinemas have pegged it ‘movie of the week’.
