FUTMinna adopted the Phinnx web system recently and it is targeted at computerizing research, academic collaboration and campus communication.
Behind this innovation were two brilliant students of FUT Minna. They are Olofu Mark, who is a 400-level student of ICT and Oguntade, a graduate of Mathematics and Computer.
The main features of the innovation include video conferencing on mobile phones, tablet and PCs and illustrator. The innovation allows people, wherever they are, to teach one another, using their phones, tablets and PC screens as notebooks. The illustrator allows people to easily create more complex and appealing symbols than is achievable in conventional whiteboards.
Other features include Course and Assignment Managers, Messaging System, Screen and Code Studio, which supports computer programming on mobile phones and tablets.

The screen (The front page) is a somewhat like Facebook wall and timeline, as it has the ability to link posts to numerous other posts to cater for citations and references as is needed in the academia and also provides ways to speedily search the posts of others without having to read through the entire ‘wall’.
It also uses a more realistic algorithm that ensures that the user does not see the same post too many times as is frequent on Facebook. It supports nesting of comments to infinite depths, ensuring academic arguments do not terminate because technology inhibits it.
