The deceased was variously described as a kind, friendly, dedicated and resourceful teacher tipped to become the next head of his department.
The National Association of Biomedical Technology Students (NABTES) commenting on his death, said: “With sadness in our hearts, we announce the death of our father, brother, friend, staff advisor, lecturer, Dr Sikiru Lamina. He was a man that every student loved, every staff loved. We pray to God to grants him eternal rest.”
Muslim students, speaking through their union, also said they have lost a mentor and a source of inspiration to many.
They prayed for Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.
Similarly, Lamina’s death was described by all those who knew him in the school as a great loss, not only to his department, but the university as a whole.
