The Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC Motors) has reaffirmed its commitment to providing mobility for Nigerians through quality and innovative car brands.
It stated this as it unveiled its sponsorship of the Manufacturers’ Association of Nigeria (MAN)’s 50-year anniversary.
GAC retained its position as a lead diamond sponsor for the three-day Annual General Meeting (AGM) which ended in Abuja on Wednesday while using the opportunity to unveil its latest addition in the GAC brands.
As an automobile brand that has, for seven years, dedicated itself to providing mobility for Nigerians in cars that ride on the wheels of quality, innovation, and refined design, GAC Motor said it is committed to driving industrialization in not just Nigeria but the entire African continent.
It was however an opportunity for GAC to showcase its range of cars whilst launching the new GAC GN8 into the Nigerian Market.
In its established custom of promoting Nigerian innovation and driving industrialization in Africa, GAC Motor is passionate about driving Africa’s economy to the point of global prominence.
The Chairman of CIG Motors, the authorized distributor of GAC Motor in Africa, Chief Diana Chen, has once again fulfilled the brand’s promise of fostering industrialization as a key sponsor to the event.
The brand has worked over the years to support Manufacturing Initiatives in Nigeria while contributing to the economic development of the African continent.
In March 2021, the automobile giant launched the construction of a car assembling plant in Lagos as part of its steps in fostering car manufacturing in Nigeria.
The GN8 Technology
The GAC GN8 is a premium luxury van competing with major brands like Toyota. The GAC GN8 GL is the top of the line variant while the base model is the 2021 GAC GN8 GE. For the full luxury experience, the 2020 GAC GN8 GL is described as the best option. It competes with the Toyota Hiace Super Grandia Elite, but runs on a turbocharged gasoline engine.
The interior appointments and layout is similar to the Toyota Alphard. The size and shape of the GAC GN8 is similar to the Kia Grand Carnival.
Outlook
The GN8 has a fuel consumption of 8.9L/100km; Maximum power of 148kw; 320N·m torque; fuel tank capacity of 68L and curb weight of 2002-2060kg. It comes with a seating capacity of 7 .
Other safety features are the Dual Front Airbags, Front Side Airbags, Side Curtain Airbags, All seats, three-point seatbelts, Front Row Seats Seatbelts w/ Pretensioners and Force Limiters, among others.
