Musa Mustapha, the father-in-law of the Minister of Police Affairs, Ibrahim Gaidam, has purchased and submitted his nomination form at the All Progressives Congress headquarters in Abuja to vie in the Yobe East senatorial by-election.
Senator Gaidam, who governed the state for over 10 years and was elected the senator representing Yobe East in 2019 and 2023 respectively before he resigned in 2023 and took a ministerial position, married Mustapha’s biological daughter.
He served as the Executive Secretary of the Yobe State Scholarship Board under the administration of Gaidam up to 2019 before he was appointed Commissioner of Finance by Gaidam’s successor and now currently serves as the state’s Commissioner for Energy and Transport.

Speaking after submitting his nomination form at the APC Abuja headquarters, Mustapha promised to provide effective and qualitative representation for his constituents.
