Following the killing of seven police officers on Monday night by suspected gunmen at Galadimawa area of the FCT, the leadership of Painted Abuja Taxis, an association of taxi drivers in the FCT, has urged members to conduct themselves properly to avoid police aggression.

A statement by the chairman  of PAT, Malam Shehu Shugaba, on the group’s WhatsApp  account yesterday, indicated that the police would become more aggressive as they hunt for the perpetrators of the dastardly act, hence there was need for the taxi operators to remain calm and properly identify themselves.

“Members are advised to avoid night movement and late night activities for now. When stopped by security personnel you should be calm and properly identify yourself in a calm and cool manner. Avoid any confrontational approach with law enforcement agencies as these may lead to unwarranted aggression if handled badly,” the statement cautioned.

The statement also advised members whose residences are around Games Village, Galadimawa and Sunnyville Estate to avoid returning home late.
