Galatasaray defeated Liverpool 1-0 in their UCL round of 16 first leg tie at the RAMS Park on Tuesday night.

Mario Lemina scored the only goal of the encounter in the seventh minute of a match Liverpool could not finish any of their 14 chances created.

It is the second time the Istanbul club have defeated Liverpool at home this season in the UCL, and by the same scoreline.

The highlight of the encounter was a large banner unveiled by the home fans for Victor Osimhen and his late mother before the start of the encounter.

The tifo has Osimhen carrying his younger self as his mother looked on from distance.

An emotional Osimhen was moved to tears, and went over to the fans to show his appreciation.

On the pitch, the 27 years old striker assisted Lemina’s goal with a header, and was a handful for Liverpool’s defence throughout.

He also had a goal ruled out for interference by a player in offside position during the buildup.

Osimhen’s assist brings the former Napoli striker’s goals contribution to ten in the UCL this season (7 goals, 3 assists).
