What is Ser Davos up to with Longclaw?
The first proper Game of Thrones season 6 trailer, which HBO bestowed upon us, came packed with a lot of interesting shots – the Boltons at war, a first look at Euron Greyjoy, Arya Stark leaping from a rooftop – but the main focus is still on just how dead Jon Snow is.
 Here we go through all the moments featuring Jon and what they might mean: The trailer doesn’t get off to a good start for ‘Jon Snow alive’ believers, showing his lifeless corpse left in the snow exactly where we last saw it, riddled with stab wounds.
 “He’s gone,” Ser Davos is heard saying over the images, seemingly unequivocally announcing his death.
 Jon’s body is now in armour and prepared as if for a funeral. His eyes are closed by the hand of an unseen character.
 But wait! Why is Jon’s body being guarded by his dire wolf, and what is Ser Davos doing at the Wall?
 Seaworth grabs Longclaw and says: “I’ve never been much of a fighter. Apologies for what you’re about to see,” unsheathing the sword with ferocity.
 HBO have intentionally made this opaque. It’s possible Jon’s body is about to be guarded or dismembered in order to prevent him from being turned into a presumably pretty badass White Walker, but more likely, the wheels are being set in motion for his resurrection.
 The most popular theory is that Ser Davos, ever the smuggler, will attempt to bring Jon’s body to Melisandre so she can use her magical powers to bring him back to life.
 Stannis being dead and Mel looking uncharacteristically weak and broken in the trailer adds weight to this – she needs a new warrior to ally with, and previously declared herself a fan of Jon’s (in her usual way – immediate disrobe!).
