An educationist and astute administrator, Ganduje began his working carrier as a teacher in 1975 at Ole College in the Southern Nigeria during his one year mandatory National Youth Service Corp (NYSC). He was employed by the Kano State Ministry of Education as Education Officer II in 1976 but later in the same year moved to Advance Teachers’ College, Kano to take up a position as Lecturer I in Educational Psychology. After two years, he got appointment with Bayero University, Kano, in 1978 as Lecturer I.
However, after a 5-year stint as a teacher, Ganduje began administration work at Nornit Limited Kano as Personnel Manager from 1979 to 1981. In 1981 he joined Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) as Admin Officer and rose to the position of Director Planning, Research and Statistics in 1993. During his 17 years’ service at FCDA, Dr Ganduje held various positions among which are: Development Secretary of Kwali Development Area; Sole Administrator, Abaji Area Council; and Chairman, Gwagwalada area Council. He was appointed Executive Secretary of FCT resettlement and compensation. He was appointed Hon. Commissioner Ministry of Works, Housing and Transport Kano State from January 1994 to November, 1998.
He joined the defunct National Party of Nigeria (NPN) during the Nigeria’s Second Republic and served as Kano State Assistant Secretary from 1979 to 1980. He was elected as the deputy Governor of Kano State from 1999 to 2003 and he served as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. From 2003-2007 he served as the special Adviser (Political) to the then Minister of Defence, Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. He also served as member, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA). He was appointed Chairman, Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, in 2008.
He was appointed as the Executive Secretary, Lake Chad Basin Commission at Ndjamena, Chad Republic. Ganduje as a champion for the protection of the Fulani Headsmen was elected as the President of Tabital Fuaku Nigeria in-charge of East and Central Africa sub-region.
In Nigeria’s recent history, Ganduje is perhaps the country’s most loyal deputy governor. No wonder Kwankwaso had confidence in him to designate him as his worthy successor. A deputy governor is an adviser; his advice can be taken and it may not be taken due to some information that is only known to the Governor, his loyalty has led him and Kwankwaso to produce the best ever perfect governor-deputy relationship in Nigeria.
At elections times, many politicians blow their own trumpets, but the best candidates enjoy massive support from the grassroots.  Apart from his intimating CV, Ganduje enjoys Kanawas support because he is the only candidate that will carry on the Kwankwasiyya project which has brought unprecedented development to Kano and also rejuvenated the ideal of democracy- the people first.
