Supporters of Kano state Governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje have took to the streets of Kano in peaceful protest to show their dismay on what they termed as bias against the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state by the police during the last governorship elections in the state.

The supporters displayed placard expressing support to Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s administration and also accused the police of partisanship by dancing to the dictates of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The peaceful protesters in their hundreds marched to the Emir’s palace from where they later moved to the government house to show their displeasure on the political happenings.

They also called on the police to maintain neutrality in the March 23 supplementary elections for peace to prevail in the state.

Speaking on behalf of Kano students, President, National Association of Kano State Students, Comrade Ali Maikasuwa Rano appealed to both parties to maintain peace and avoid utterances that could lead to chaos in the state.

Addressing the protesters at the state government house, Governor Ganduje promised to sustained peaceful coexistence in the state and assured that peace would continue to reign before, during and after the rerun election.
