After months of engagements and discussions with various stakeholders, the Governorship Candidate of the Actiion Alliance (AA) in the 2023 General Elections in Rivers State, Dr. Dawari Ibietela George today had special audience with the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) H.E Abdullahi Ganduje, where he officially conveyed his decision to return to the ruling party, which he helped to establish and nurture.
At the core of their conversation was the rebuilding and strengthening of the Party as a platform to serve the people of Rivers State and Nigeria in general. The leaders also agreed to make the party accommodate broad interests, dispense substantial justice, and reposition the Party for effective service delivery to the people.
Describing Dr. George as a “big fish”, the APC National Chairman praised his experience as a skilled politician who will be key in helping the APC take over Rivers State. “Rivers State wil be completely APC,” Ganduje said of his expectations from Dr. George.
Welcoming Dr. George back into the APC fold, he assured that the party’s leadership structure will be set up in Rivers State to create a platform for Dr. George and other members returning back to party to secure the state from the opposition. “You are now equal members with other members of the party. We are bent on widening Democracy in the country,” the National Chairman added.
Those in attendance at the APC National Headquaters were members of the National working committee of the Party, including Chief Hon Victor Giadom, Vice Chairman South-South, Hon Titsi Ganama, 2023 APC Deputy Governorship Candidate Adamawa State, and former colleagues of Dr. George in the House of Representatives amongst whom were Hon Bimbo Daramola, Hon Bello Ibrahim, Hon Nadu Karibo, Hon Robinson Uwak, and the Action Alliance Deputy Governorship Candidate in Rivers State Barr. Tonnie Anierohwom who was also received into the APC. Several other party leaders from Rivers State gathered to welcome Dr. George back to the APC.
Dr. George had also paid a thank-you visit to the National Chairman of the Action Alliance (AA) Chief Barr. Ken Udeze to convey to him his appreciation and that of his team for the graciousness of the AA National Chairman in giving him the platform to run for the Governorship of Rivers State in 2023.
Dr. George used the opportunity to intimate his host of his decision to return to the APC.
The AA National Chairman thanked Dr. George for the visit and the courtesy of intimating the Action Alliance of his next moves. He appreciated it, adding that the cordiality and respect they both shared would remain positively indelible on them.
Chief Udeze thanked Dr. George and his team for the sacrifice and contributions to the development of the AA party during their short stay and prayed that God will lead them and grant Dr. George success in his future endeavours, while calling for the sustenance of their friendship and solidarity for the good of Nigeria.
