Gara-Gombe demands regular training for schools’ games masters

The Gombe State government has been urged to allocate a portion of the budget of the Ministry of Education to organise a workshop for the school game masters in the state.

The Gombe State Chairman, Athletics Association, Dr. Ahmad Shu’aibu Gara-Gombe, disclosed this while speaking at the opening ceremony of a two-day trainees workshop for Gombe Local Government Primary School Game Masters in Gombe.

Gara-Gombe said the association will be organising a workshop for the game masters at least twice a year, which will go a long way in reviving sports activities in primary and secondary schools.

He noted that the association decided to organise the training session for game masters to prepare them for the maiden edition of the Gombe State Inter Primary School Athletics Championship that will be held soon.

He further urged the participants to be proactive and focused on their training while guaranteeing them the best experience considering the number of competent resource persons invited to lead the workshop.

He commended the organising committee, which is made up of members both within the association and Gombe Local Education Authority while charging them to redouble their efforts to achieve success in the forthcoming championship.

In his remarks, the Executive Secretary, Gombe Local Education Authority, Malam Abubakar Baba praised the association for organising the Athletics Championship for the first time in Gombe State while declaring his full support and cooperation.
