Permit me to use this medium to demand that killers of General Idris Alkali (retd) should be brought to justice without delay. They should be properly punished to discourage them and other criminals from engaging in such dastardly act in the future. The law of the land should be effectively used against them.

Those who organise and coordinate the killing of countless people across the country should not go unpunished. In fact, if apprehended by security agents, they should not be granted bail in any form as that will give them the boldness to kill more people.

It is surprising that people who committed less crimes are always put behind bars and denied bail while those with such heinous crimes are left off the hook. I am now convinced that they have sponsors who cannot afford to see their “boys” in jail.

If these killers are released, innocent Nigerians will continue to live in fear as anybody can become their victim at any time. Those who ply the Jos-Abuja road are always at the risk of attacks by evil men. It is quite unfortunate.

It is hoped that General Alkali’s case would not be swept under the carpet and forgotten like others before him.

Let me draw the attention of President Muhammadu Buhari that there’s fear in the land as a result of incessant killings and disappearance of innocent Nigerians on federal roads and other places. Let the security agencies do their jobs effectively so that these killings and other crimes would stop. If arrested, offenders should be punished accordingly.

We demand that justice should be allowed to take its course without necessary interference. The truth is that our government lacks the courage to expose and punish perpetrators. But how can you win this war if perpetrators are always allowed to go scot free? Let the needful be done to save our dear country, Nigeria.
